Latvia begins the battle for a ticket to the 2027 basketball World Cup final tournament in Qatar in Group F of the European zone on Friday, November 30th with a match against the Netherlands in Rīga.

It promises to be a significant night in several respects. This will be the first match under the leadership of new Spanish coach Sito Alonso, who will have to do without a number of leading players.

Meanwhile long-time captain Dairis Bertāns has already announced that this will be his last game for the national side and will be looking to end his career on a high in what is likely to be an emotional evening.

Whatever the result, there will be little time for the players to rest afterwards – the next match will be away against Austria on December 1st.

Live coverage is provided by Latvian Television on the LTV7 channel and right here on LSM.

Pre-game chat begins at 19:00 and the match itself will start at 19:20. Please note that the livestream will be geoblocked if you are outside Latvia.

You can find full details of the qualification process and future matches at the official FIBA website here.
