  1. Reading between the lines I’m guessing it’s a false allegation?
I suppose they will have to go into hiding now too.

  2. Quick Google and it seems like there’s dozens and dozens of reasons this could happen. For example, a key witness withdrawing, contradicting themselves or becoming unreliable, forensic results turning out to be inconclusive, issuesbwith chain of custody for forensix evidence, new evidence pointing to an alternative suspect, new evidence that contradicts a central claim, disclosure issues where material the defence must receive changes the landscape and yes, of course, evidence that proves the accused are innocent.

Essentially there’s no realistic prospect of conviction based on the available evidence so they’re dropping it.

Such a shame for the lassies family if those lads really did commit the crime. Also a real shame if they didn’t do it and spent months in custody over bad investigative work. Whole thing is just fucking sad.

  3. I hate the new wave of ‘riot photography’ where they try to get a shot that looks like an 80s metal album cover or some shitty horror movie. The Tottenham riots were the same, everyone with a Cannon EOS thinks they’re Oliver Stone

  4. Why doing feel like this is going to spawn countless theories and odd arguments. I think the only the true reason would stop it and even then I bet certain types will argue it’s a fake reason still

  5. Refusing to prosecute because it would inflame tensions and harm community cohesion.
