Hi everyone,
I'm a Finnish resident who publishes mobile apps on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. I'm trying to understand how this income is taxed in Finland.
From what I've read on Vero.fi, it seems like income from foreign platforms (like App Store/Play Store) is taxed as earned income (ansiotulo) and should be reported as foreign income on the tax return.
I found this page on Vero.fi about income from foreign platforms: https://www.vero.fi/en/individuals/tax-cards-and-tax-returns/income/earned-income/income-from-social-media/
But I want to make sure I'm understanding it correctly since it's specifically about social media income, though I think the same rules apply to app income.
I realize I could contact Vero directly, but I wanted to hear from people who have actually dealt with this in practice first.
Any guidance would be appreciated!

If you don’t have a company and you published them under your name it would be ansiotulo
It’s taxable but note that you don’t have to pay VAT because technically you are providing services for the third party in EU (Apple’s/Google’s entities at Ireland) and they are handling the VAT charges, so VAT 0% Intra-community supply will be used.
