Let’s be honest, we all won the jackpot at the life lottery

  1. Yea!
I would rather be french then born outside of Europe

  2. I wouldn’t consider myself lucky if I were born in Russia tbh.

  3. How can you pretend to be civilized while you post a horizontal to vertical to horizontal image?

  4. More than you think. A large part of that blue blob is Eastern Europe

  5. Remove Russia from Europe and then we will see how we are lucky.

  6. And even lower once you remove being r*ssian from the equation

  7. Every living being won the jackpot of being born at all. The “where” part is not a lottery, everybody could’ve never possibly been anything but the descendant of their direct ancestors.

  8. On the one hand, I appreciate the subtle jab of making Russia part of an “accidental” Ukrainian flag. On the other, I feel deeply offended that Russia is counted as part of Europe.

  9. It depends on how we conceive of the soul, whether it is sort of poured into a body like this map assumes or the two are intrinsically linked as I personally think

Basically, I had a 100% chance of being born in Nottingham and this is proof that if there is a God he is fundamentally evil

  10. Shout out to Portugal baby. Without you, I would be Asian

  11. My chances were near 100% as my parents were living and working in Amsterdam.

  12. Sorry to burst your collective bubbles, but it’s no longer a matter of were you are born, but how much money and assets your family possess.

  13. I mean being in the Chinese middle class isn’t bad I guess

  14. What’s the percentage if we exclude Belarus, Russia, and Naples?

  15. what is that % reflecting? It isn’t population, because the % of being born in Europe(including Russia) would be about 9%. for EU specifically, it would be 5.5%.

    7.6% for North America

    5.3% for South America

    18% for Africa

    0.56% for Oceania

58.8% for Asia(although I have no idea what’s included in Asia when you look up population numbers)

  16. And it’s kinda our fault that everywhere else sucks ass

  17. To be fair, I find it unlikely that my mother would have my birth in Asia…

  18. Mordor is not Europe.
Imagine comparing being born in Northern Europe with being born in Yakutsk.

  19. I don’t know about OP, but my parents never left Europe even once, so my chances of being born there were pretty much 100%

  20. It’s not a chance – it’s a choice by our parents and we are reflections of them. Where I am born is not related to poor family planning in Middle East and Africa of having 6+ kids they can’t support on basic needs to speak nothing of providing education and a decent quality of life.
