The bookshop nerd in me can’t help but notice this is a Barnes & Noble bookshop, and not British, but the decent human being in me is just pleased for the guy.
He sold some books! Good on him!
That’s approximately 12 more books than I’ve sold and at least 1 more than I’ve written.

Well that’s twelve more than me. I’ve not even finished the adult colouring book someone got for my birthday about 10 years ago – I coloured in the word cunt and felt satisfied enough to put it away.
Were they from the shelf behind you?

Those aren’t bad numbers at all. I know a lot of professional authors who say nobody at all came to their book signing.
