Pope Leo XIV, a Chicago native and noted White Sox supporter, received a unique gift honoring his baseball fandom.
As Pope Leo was given gifts while on the papal plane to Turkey during his first trip abroad, CBS News’ Chris Livesay presented him with a bat that was used by White Sox legend and Hall of Fame second baseman Nellie Fox.
“How did you get this through security?” the Pope joked (via MLB.com’s Brian Murphy).
He also received a pair of White Sox slippers and socks.
