  1. An 8 item breakfast roll might not be too bad for that price all things considered. What was in it ??

  2. Ah come on. 8 items for €6.70. That’s a fair price. You basically put a whole fry up into a roll. You wouldn’t get a fry anywhere for €6.70.

  3. Eight fucking items. I’m surprised that all fit into a roll. Don’t even know how there’s eight different options for a breakfast roll anyway. And you’re wondering why it’s €6.70??

  4. That spar in roscam has been overpriced even a decade ago it’s proper chicken breast as well not the usual chicken fillet so your exxageration

  5. Ireland has an issue where they say, if people will pay 1.50 they’ll pay 1.75. And that just goes on and on until you get to where prices are now. I left Ireland in 2013 and I’m fairly sure a breakfast roll was 3.something

  6. This is how recessions are caused.

People stop buying their breakfast rolls. The deli is less busy. The deli has too many staff. The deli lets people go. Those let go have less money to buy their breakfast roll in the shop next door, so the shop next door is less busy and the the knock on effect continues.

  7. As a massive breakfast devourer this isn’t that surprising or in fairness, expensive.

8 items is gonna start getting expensive real quick. Especially depending on whats in it and what that particular shop is like.

I avoid my local Mace entirely for deli stuff. It’s a rip off at the most basic level. €5.50 for a standard roll, mo deal or drink with it or anything. They’d easily charge €6.70 for 8 pieces. My local centra which has an amazing deli would cost about €6 for 8 pieces so it wouldn’t be surprising to me to see this price for such a large roll.

If they put it on a plate in a cafe they’d probably charge you €12 for something very similar.

  8. Old deli worker here, each sausage is 1 item. Some people don’t understand when they ask for sausage it doesn’t mean 2-3 sausages to line the whole roll with. Even so 8 items is alot.
Break it down you’ll see that most places do 5 items for 5 euro. Some places with a tea or coffee for 6.50.
    So 2 sausage, 1 bacon, 1 portion pudding and egg is 5. That’s a hefty roll for 5 euro…

Also if people have fallen into the habit of getting a roll for breakfast or lunch every day, as I have in the past, a good way to cut back is limiting the no. Of items. I promise that a roll with 3 sausages (3.50 supervalue price) will leave you full, but not bursting like you probably were after that 8 item roll.
Start to cut back just a little, too many of us think that its all or nothing. Take it gradually, save money, time and feel better too.

  9. Spar is a joke anyway u walk in with a fiver for a few sweets n a drink and u end up having to take out an overdraft.

Centra & Londis r way better. They’ll have a few deals on most of the time.

  10. 8 itens for €6 is great price.

A plain roll itslf can be as much as 1.20.

Ive been in places that charge 1.50-1.75 an item.this place in the village for 4 bacon, 2 hash browns 2 sossies costs fifteen something. I refused to visit there the last 9? Years because they had a school deal which was 5.50 for 6 items – 2 bacon 2 hash 2 sossie and i asked could they just guve me that and charge me 3.00 for an extra 2x bacon but nope. Wanted €15.50.

  11. Damn I thought I got ripped off paying €5.50 for a roll the other day, but that a 50% increase compared to what it was a few months back. How do they justify this shit? Like all the ingredients are made here, it’s just pure profiteering scumbagery

  12. Usually there is a sign that says it’s 5 or 6 items and every item after that is standard price per item. For one less sausage this sandwich could been €5.50.

  13. Got two chicken fillet rolls two cans of monster a, two magnum ice-cream, and a pack of taytos, all for a fiver the one behind the counter thought the same lmao ano I think it was her last day and she just didn’t give a fuck

  14. And I can’t fight this inflation anymore

I’ve forgotten what I started fighting for

It’s time to bring this ship into the shore

And throw away the oars, forever

‘Cause I can’t fight this inflation anymore

I’ve forgotten what I started fightin’ for

And if I have to crawl upon the floor

    Come crashing through your door

Baby, I can’t fight this inflation anymore

  15. I got a wedge roll this morning. Just wedges and red sauce, and were stingy with the wedges. It cost €5. When I checked the label, they had charged me for a chicken Goujon roll. Is a wedge roll not normally a thing? I felt robbed.

  16. See your issue here is going to the Spar in Roscam.

Make the pilgrimage down the Old Dublin Road to Duggans. You could probably get 8 items in a roll for a fiver.
