According to the Irish Times today, the holding company that owns McCabe Pharmacy is an applicant in the JR case lodged against Metrolink.
I have a monthly script with the local McCabes. I feel awful knowing I have supported a company that could help frustrate this project for another few years and cost the state how lever many more million.
I’ll be changing pharmacies in the morning.

Yep. Boycott them. I drove past one yesterday to another pharmacy because of this.
Full Boycott, absolute scum material.
”Failed to carry out an adequate Environmental Impact Assessment”
As if they would ever give a single flying fuck about that, no shame. Just abuse of the system
I feel even more awrful. I feel dreadful!
Boycott McCabes!
To anybody else who is going to boycot them also, make sure you email them to let them know
There’s a few other notable people in there:
Elizabeth Vandenberghe is a professor at Trinity, and consultant haematologist in St James’s hospital.
Martin Jones is the architect who designed the IFSC.
Leo Crehan is a director at Collen Construction, a major construction company.
Shitebag of a pharmacy that I’ve been boycotting the last two years even though it’s my closest
If 19 residents from Ballymun opposed to the metro link it wouldn’t be so much as piss in the wind.
What a pack of miserable cunts
What about McCormack’s? That’s mine
How is it that legal?
Sure they’re the worst pharmacy chain going anyways they need 24 hours to do what an independent pharmacy does in 15 minutes.
Emigrated abroad and currently living across from a metro stop, handiest thing ever. In Stockholm you want to live close to a metro stop. It’s so sad to see people objecting to public transport when it’s so desperately needed in Ireland 🙁

They were offered 75k after numerous talks to placate them two years ago. That’s 75 k paid for by you dear reader. Instead of it going to for example medical equipment for children in our hospitals it’s going to Sharon mc cabe to upgrade her coffee grinder. Or whatever vacuous shite, money grabbing shite hawks buy. The twenty with plenty want more, More, more.
The system is all broken and lends itself to this sh*te
Never stepping foot in that pharmacy
Maybe now we can just change the legislation around NIMBYS fucking things up for the rest of us. Just CPO the bloody thing for the good of everyone.
No doubt the local TD is getting a hammering from these cunts to block the thing for fear of losing the vote next election but these pricks will vote for a wet paper bag and toss em under the bus if it suits they’re whims
Do they have a business on the route?
Whoa there buddy, you’re getting too close to a level of class consciousness with this one! Look, there’s immigrants using services over there!
Boycott is the only answer, and I’m glad it’s gaining traction. [I dug out who it was the day the application came out](https://www.reddit.com/r/irishpolitics/comments/1p6bokr/comment/nqupnmp/?context=3) but my post was semi-facetious.
It seems like this specific challenge hasn’t just put us over a tipping point, but has smashed through it.
The unashamed naming and shaming not just online in such a high volume (of both the individuals and companies), but now in the largest national news outlets like the IT who would typically cater to the crowds that promote this malicious behaviour under the guise of ‘architectural heritage’ or ‘save the trees’ or ‘won’t somebody *please* think of the insects!’ is a very positive development, and hopefully it continues and intensifies. Not just to give this crowd pause to think if they really want to continue down this (little Victorian) road, but so the next shower who might try to pull similar reasons to reconsider if it is worth becoming potential national pariahs and their businesses boycotted.
It is also worth noting that as the cherry on top, **there are no McCabes Pharmacies in Ranelagh.**
One of the cores of their complaint is a private development allocated space for a future underground station at charlemont. I repeat a PRIVATE development allocated space for a station (did not build anything) and because the government did not stop them ig it’s not fair
I genuinely hope and pray this is all sorted out in mediation and it’s just a cash grab
Thanks for sharing, my local pharmacy is one of them, will definitely not use now.
Boycott time
