  4. I still don’t think this was Ukraine. I think this was incompetence or a maintenance breakdown.

  11. This is incredibly polluting to the Black Sea, but these ships were barely maintained and incredibly polluting by themselves.

    Hopefully scrap metal dredgers will be able to come in and clean up the place.

  13. No insurance means no pay out. If your ship has a 1000-1 chance of sinking everyday, people are going to start getting nervous.

  16. Writer of article naively says the cause is unlikely to be Ukrainian drone strike as it is 10,000 kms away. They can easily make that happen.

  19. Only mystery is why these are anywhere other than permanently moored up in a Russian port or smoldering wrecks on their way to the bottom.
