>In an interview with the Daily Mail this weekend, Prime Minister Boris Johnson said 50 migrants have already been told they are due to be flown to the east African nation within a fortnight but he anticipated legal opposition to the move.

>For those who missed it, over the weekend someone at the Home Office threatened to scrap the @IndependentCI because they had the temerity to commission an independent review of the recent Home Office country information report on Rwanda.

£5 million a day on hotel accommodation! We are in a cost of living crisis, we can’t look after our own. Illegals are cared for more
So a tiny number.
Would you look at that. All single military aged men…. We need to park our two aircraft carriers in the channel to stop this
Great stuff, put Patel and the rest in a dingy and send them away!
Tories will use this as a reason for sending people to Rwanda and not seeing the government for what it is – being an abject failure on immigration (and every single other issue).
We gotta do something about this. I think.. we’re gonna have to leave the EU… *again.*
Matteo Renzi, former PM of Italy, said something about migrants crossing into Italy by boat that I instantly agreed with. He said the only solution to it is for there to be a massive investment in Africa. Creating well paid jobs in Africa, and creating a big middle class that Europe could sell goods to. Lifting the world economy.
It’s a long term solution that won’t give instant results. But given that the people crossing the channel in boats come almost exclusively from just 10 nations, surely this has to be the future.
Let’s not forget that the EU is of the opinion that asylum claims should be considered by the first EU country they enter, or if they have been in the EU for more than 12 months, the country they have most links to, or the country they just came from.
So when we were EU members we had a mechanism available, the Dublin Regulation, to send them back to France or their point of entrance to the EU.
Now the UK has to consider their claims.
Jesus, at this rate, in another 81 years they might make up 1% of society, maybe we need to brexit more frantically from now on.
Pay Russia to accept them
I guess the people smugglers are gonna be getting their summer holiday bonuses. Damn :/
I won’t sleep tonight.
That’s only 2/3rds of the amount of Ukrainians the UK has taken in since the war began, are we/aren’t we welcoming/repelling Ukrainians/Refugees…?

Funny all the usual name Torybots told me this had all stopped now that we’d announced the Rwanda plan? u/Talshere still not feeling a bit done over by this government lying to you yet? [Here are the latest figures mate](https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/migrants-detected-crossing-the-english-channel-in-small-boats-weekly-data/weekly-number-of-migrants-detected-in-small-boats-2-may-to-8-may-2022), even higher than when you’d told me it was now sorted for good.
We need to build a sea wall.
That’s a tiny number.
Christ lads.

The moral U-turns are making me dizzy.
