Armenia national team and Urartu Yerevan defender Erik Piloyan may continue his career in Slovakia by joining Podbrezová, where his compatriot David Akopyan is already playing. The news was reported by insider Suren Meliksetyan.
According to the source, the move is expected to be completed as a permanent transfer. The offer from Slovakia meets Urartu’s requirements, and the parties are currently in active negotiations.
This season, the 24-year-old Piloyan has made 18 appearances for Urartu, scoring 2 goals. He has also featured in 8 matches for the Armenian national team.
Podbrezová currently sits 6th in the Slovak championship standings.
Erik Piloyan is the brother of Alashkert player Edgar Piloyan. Since September 2025, Erik has become a key player for the Armenian national team under Yeghishe Melikyan, impressing the coaching staff with strong performances against Ireland and Hungary in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
