Journalist hurt his finger on the day of a match he was covering, and has desperately tried to hammer a story out of his very boring hospital visit by writing about it like its connected to the match (woeful metaphors included).
Trust the BBC to turn a good news story about a Scottish win into something bad – and bonus points for a it happening to someone in the BBC.

My favourite and only memorable moment from Colin Paterson is when he used to present Liquid News on the BBC Three channel and Pete Burns was a regular. On one episode Pete said after Liquid News stopped Paterson would probably end up presenting some regional rubbish. He ended up as one of the BBC’s entertainment reporters, going to award shows and events, so maybe not regional but still fluff.
Most (or many) people just read the headline before forming an opinion. These headlines suggest that the correspondent was battered by Scotland supporters because… Scots are violent alcoholics?
