Speaking during a live broadcast on Habertürk, Çelik reiterated that the Turkish Cypriot cause is a “national cause” for Turkey, according to remarks reported by the Anadolu Agency.

Responding to a question on Turkey’s Cyprus policy following the most recent elections in the TRNC, Çelik underlined that Turkey’s support for the Turkish Cypriot community is unwavering. He said the presence of Turkish troops on the island remains the guarantor of peace and stability.

Çelik added that as long as the concept of two sovereign states in Cyprus is rejected, “none of the other proposed solutions will produce any results.”
