  1. This sounds pretty neat but I wish the article explained better what they’re made of and how they work.

  2. Did a bit of a dive to see if there are clues how this is done. It looks like the method is ultralight cellulose bubbles (which must be insanely fragile) that are almost lighter than air and are released in a high volume, low speed fan or from a high point and then massive colored lights are shined up to illuminate them.

    Not trying to yuck someones yum, and maybe that makes sense indoors, during concerts, or in so many other situations where explosions in the sky aren’t what you are looking for, but illuminating them from below would limit the use and application quite a lot.

    Edit: lit from a single dorection it also may create a flickering effect as bubbles deeper in the cloud passed In and out of the light?

    This is all pure speculation.
