Ocean Spray Responds To Videos Of Cranberry Cans Filled With Water

What’s in the can? That’s what’s being asked across the country after a number of families opened up their cranberry sauce on Thanksgiving and found just clear water inside. Ocean Spray, which makes the sauce, says they have launched an investigation. And recogn bought some cans and tells us what she found inside. It’s a mystery that shocked families across America celebrating Thanksgiving. Imagine opening a can of Ocean Spray cranberry sauce for your traditional holiday feast and finding this water. Water. No cranberry sauce, just water. And not just one can. Water. Can you believe that? Water. Unbelievable. It happened to all these families. They posted their videos on social media. Water. That is sold cans of water. So why did they take video of opening cans? Are you videoing this? They had previously opened other cans and when they found just water, they wanted a record when they opened remaining cans. Both of them empty. Oh my gosh. Full of water. A son of a I spoke with Sandra Kelly who hosted 15 guests for Thanksgiving at her home in Michigan. This is can number four. How important is cranberry sauce to your meal? It is very important because we do cornbread dressing and cornbread dressing is just not the same without the cranberry sauce. Not the same. Not the same. My daughter was sorely disappointed. I came to this supermarket in New York to buy some Ocean Spray cranberry sauce to see if I would get any sauce or just water. We opened six cans of cranberry sauce just like the ones in the videos. No water here, all sauce. Ocean Spray says in a statement, “Millions of families enjoyed their cranberry sauce this holiday season, but even one can of sauce not meeting expectations matters to us. We’re looking into how this may have happened. We’ve reached out to the folks who shared these videos to make it right.” Full of water. Ocean Spray sells approximately 70 million cans of cranberry sauce each year, the majority around the holidays. [Music]

  1. Um…wouldn't the cans sound liquidie? I mean that's odd. I'm glad the company is doing the right thing, but not knowing the cans would have a weird sound is crazy

  2. All the "Water" cans are opened upside-down! I bet these videos are people glueing an opened can, clean and filled with water, and then opening the bottom for viral video likes.
