  7. Can we not just like… dispose of him entirely? It’s a waste of resources keeping him alive.

  9. For a psychopathic child killer, such as Axel, where there is zero doubt that he’s guilty of the crime and will always be a danger to society. Is there any case against capital punishment? I mean why pay huge amounts of money to keep him alive for 50 years?

  10. Obviously, they could hardly put him on the wing at HMP Liverpool could they? I bet every single jail in the UK has a band of scouse drug dealers who would sort out whomever give him the Watkins treatment with free tapes and spice for the rest of their sentence.

  16. Some human rights organization will probably take up his cause, calling it cruel and unusual punishment. Let the bleeding hearts bleed.

  17. I presume solitary confinement is to keep him safe? I doubt he would last two minutes in genpop.

  21. The mental damage 50+ years will do to someone going in so young will be far more painful than being physically harmed. But there needs to be no PlayStations, no access to hot water or anything, just to himself.

    Though saying that, I do believe if you act like a savage you should be treated in kind. Commit acts like he did and you give up your right to live in a civilised society 

  22. He would be useful for scientific research. MRI his brain, find which parts are over or under reactive. Try medications. See if we can find a reason. It might be a good opportunity to get some signal out of the noise of mental illness. Afterwards, slice up his brain and get a good understanding of what “psycho” looks like under a microscope.

  29. Lifetime in solitary confinement like Hannibal Lecter with out all the entertainment would suffice.

  33. As a father to a young girl myself, a big part of me thinks it’s a complete waste of resources to keep this piece of filth alive.

    The other part thinks death would be too easy for him. Give him the bare minimum to maintain his health and ensure he leads the most mundane and boring existence for many, many decades.

  35. Solitary for that long is a fate arguably worse than death, and a massive drain on the system. It’s a brutal sentence, but for a crime this horrific, the usual arguments about rehabilitation feel hollow. Honestly, the public’s anger about the cost of keeping him alive is completely understandable.

  36. It’s barbaric to treat a beast like that. It should be 51.99 years instead.

  37. Good. Death Penalty would have been better though, but let him suffer in his own personal hell.

  39. He should be kept in a cell slightly too small to lay down flat in until the day he dies for his disgusting act.
