Industry veteran Duncan Bureau has passed away, leaving his many friends and colleagues shocked and saddened by the sudden loss.

Bureau was serving as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for Farenexus, who posted a touching tribute to him.

Other online tributes to the industry leader mention not just  Bureau’s leadership,  but his integrity, keen insight and sense of humour.

In addition to his role with Farenexus, Bureau served on the advisory board for Klosebuy Inc., an SaaS platform. Prior to that, he was CCO and Executive Founder of Canadian Jetlines and Senior Vice President, Sales and Distribution at Etihad.

Before working in the UAE with Etihad, Bureau had an extensive career in Canada, as the President of Air Canada Rouge and Vice President of Global Sales and Distribution at Air Canada, as well as 10 years in various roles at WestJet. He also worked with Malaysia Airlines, The Loyalty Group (Air Miles) and Canadian Airlines International in the U.K.

In an online post, Nadine Schorn, National Partner Development Manager at ACTA called him one of the most influential leaders in the industry. “He was known not just for his accomplishments, but for the way he built people — his belief in talent, his ability to elevate teams, and his passion for strengthening the advisor community. Duncan was a builder, a believer, and a champion for this industry,” she writes.

TravelPulse Canada also extends our condolences to Duncan’s family and friends as they grieve his loss.
