  1. I hate the name but if it means two turkey dinners I’m in

  2. Ta guvs, innit.

tbh I’m not sure why ending a sentence with ‘innit’ makes the rest of the world think it’s English. I don’t think I’ve actually heard anybody say it unironically in 20 years.

  3. Or just “Thanks” or “Ta”

“It’s Ta next week so we’ll have Thursday off”

  4. You there, boy, what day is it?

Why it’s Tiddly Givins Day guv’na, innit?

  5. We already have a name for it , it’s called a Sunday roast

  6. This is stupid. It’s like saying we’d call a holiday, holibobs!

  7. I still have platty joobs stuck in my head. Reckon I think about it at least once a week

  8. If we had “Thanks Giving” in Britain it’d be called “Cheers Mates”

  9. More likely Cheers or it would get abbreviated to Ta.

But also, we don’t celebrate our genocides of natives, we sweep them under the rug and never talk about them or teach them in school.

  10. It is celebrated in the UK, in the Isle of Lewis. I had thanksgiving holidays last weeked, admittedly on Fri to Mon where our thanksgiving day was Thursday. Different to the american one though, I think.
