Its that time of year when Christmas lights are being switched on up and down the country. Is there a better looking town at Christmas than Cookstown? The way the main street is dished like a bowl, and you approach it at either end coming over the hill to then see the entire street lit up, it is something special.

  1. I used to work for that godawful cheese factory so that hill has very different connotations for me, unfortunately. To me it signifies another day of trying to teach grannies to suck eggs for not enough money, and all the lights on the planet aren’t going to change it.

  2. thats a low bar but then again you live in cookstown so

  3. My mum always says Cookstown looks fantastic the first week or so. After that there will be a random tree or two with non-functional lights which spoils it. I quite like Limavady as well, simple schemes work better.

  4. It makes the Cookstown main street look a bit nicer amongst all the traffic
