John C. Williams, the president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, will discuss current economic conditions at a New Jersey Bankers Association event on Monday, Dec. 15 at Liberty Science Center.
The complimentary event is open to the public and will bring together leaders from across New Jersey’s government, financial and business communities for an important conversation on the state’s economic growth and regional competitiveness. Williams will offer his insights on current economic conditions, followed by a moderated discussion.
As one of the nation’s key economic policymakers, Williams currently serves as vice chair and a permanent voting member of the Fed’s Federal Open Market Committee, which sets national monetary policy for the Federal Reserve System, including interest rate adjustments aimed at promoting stable prices and maximum employment.
Prior to becoming President and CEO of Fed New York, Williams served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco from 2011-2018. Before that, he was the executive vice president and director of research at the San Francisco Fed, which he joined in 2002.
Although there is no charge to attend this event, pre-registration is required. Attendees are asked to arrive no later than 10:15 a.m. Williams will begin his remarks at 10:30 a.m.
