    Virginia Democrats are attempting to create a new congressional map in 2026 that could help them win four new seats.

    Amid efforts in other states to make maps more favorable to Democrats or Republicans, Virginia House of Delegates Speaker Don Scott outlined the state’s plans to do the same at a meeting of the Virginia Property Owners Alliance.

    Same thing with Trump going on about trying to cancel out Biden’s pardons because of “auto pen”. Trump 100% uses auto pen, the VAST majority of the time. So just remember that if Biden’s auto pen orders are pulled down, then Trump’s auto pen orders can/will be pulled down in the future.

    This happening in Virginia tells me they don’t think Indiana Republicans will hold out.

  22. Which of course GOP will say is unconstitutional despite them trying to do the same thing in the states they are able to. Dems do it to balance the scale, GOP does it to keep power.

  24. I’ve been arguing for years now that the only way to fix the scourge of gerrymandering is for Democrats to do it, and to go at it even harder than Republicans. The key, however, is that when they finally cry “uncle,” then the Democrats do need to step back and say, “Okay. So you finally agree this shit is broken. Here is legislation that will eliminate partisan control of district maps forever. Let’s vote on it.” And they actually need to have that legislation ready, in hand, at that very moment.

    And every time I’ve brought this up, some ~~brainless ape~~ helpful, concerned citizen always chimes in with some variation of “Nooo, but we have to play by the rules, or the rules won’t matter! Wahh!” If this is you, then you need to understand: *The rules already don’t matter because they’ve been broken so hard.* Gerrymandering has created a situation where we are ~~governed~~ ruled by the minority, specifically a minority who have no regard for their constituents and fully believe they are there to rule us, not represent us.

  25. There was a scene in one of the Star Trek films where Captain Kirk was fighting some evil pos, and as the asshole was hanging on Kirk’s boot and Kirk had been trying to save him from falling to his death, the guy was trying to drag Kirk down into the abyss with him.

    Kirk is just fucking done and starts kicking the villain in the face, and each kick is punctuated by *“I am sick (kick) and tired (kick) of YOU! (kick)* and the villain finally falls to his death.

    Everyone in the theater started clapping and yelling like crazy, we were high fiving strangers and it was fucking glorious.

    This is what Democrats desperately need to do with the Republican Party.

  29. I’m a Virginia Democrat and I truly hate this, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Republicans certainly see no benefit in playing fair.

    I doubt it will happen, but we aren’t getting sane Republicans while their base prefers Trump. It’s going to be awfully strange to watch them all attack each other to become the next dictator when old age gets him.

    I do feel bad that poor Vance (the jerk) is dumb enough to think that the Trump voters would actually go for him, if Trump was wise enough to realize that nobody lives forever he would probably want Ivanka as an extension of his own ego.

  31. It’s the prisioners dilemma, except the other side has been throwing us under a bus for a while now.

  32. Republicans have been doing this quietly throughout the country for decades. It’s time to fight back and draw the lines so that the side that has the most people is represented better.

  33. here’s a better idea. Let’s make a federal level law banning all of this shit. I am a Virginian. I am not happy about this but if president DJT insists on playing this game I mean to make sure we fucking WIN.
