Luiza Rozova said she was “really sorry” for the war but insisted she had no power to stop it as she covered her face and asked not to be filmed.
The 22-year-old is thought to be the daughter of the Russian president and Svetlana Krivonogikh, a cleaner-turned-multimillionaire.
In a video posted online by journalist Dmytro Sviatnenko of the daily Ukrainian news service TSN, Ms Rozova was asked if she felt any responsibility for the Kremlin’s actions or supported Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
She responded: “I’m really sorry that this is happening. Unfortunately, I’m not responsible for this situation.”
Ms Rozova, whose real name is Elizaveta Krivonogikh, appeared to be escorted by a professional bodyguard during the exchange, Mr Sviatnenko said.

She is now wealthy, according to the Proekt investigation, which found that her residential real estate holdings were worth at least $14.5 million. She also owns assets together with members of Putin’s inner circle. For example, she holds 3% of Bank of Rossiya, which is controlled by Putin’s close friend Yuri Kovalchuk, according to Proekt, and she and Kovalchuk are owners of the Igora ski resort in Sochi.

I’ve met this girl once, she lived in the Netherlands in The Hague some years back, when I came back from a party and we went to the afterparty and she hung out in the hot tub with us, later I was told this was Putins daughter.
Good times, she was fairly nice to be fair and moved to the EU for a reason.
