The employers do not want to hear about a working from home obligation or other restrictive measures for the companies. They report this in a joint communication, now that the corona figures continue to go in the bad direction and the leaked advice from the GEMS mentions mandatory telework until Christmas.
“Mandating working from home is not an acceptable measure to curb the current corona pandemic,” Voka, Unizo, VBO and the Boerenbond state in the statement. The employer organizations say they understand that measures are needed now that the number of corona infections is rising sharply and increasing the pressure on hospitals.
“The employers also want to cooperate in this, by, among other things, watching over the distance rules, the wearing of the mouth mask where the necessary distance cannot be safeguarded, hand hygiene and by the maximum application of telework where this does not jeopardize the normal operation of the companies. But there can be no question of a general telework obligation,” it says.
Quick booster shot
This time, a different keg will have to be tapped, according to the employers. Among other things, they are calling for a rapid rollout of the booster shot. “Companies are ready to make that logistically possible. Vaccinations in the workplace will be an essential element in getting everyone re-vaccinated as quickly as possible.
“Employers say they strongly encourage telecommuting where it can be done, but that a government mandate of telecommuting would be an “unnecessary and unhelpful measure.” “It would directly and indirectly cause renewed economic harm to our businesses and trigger expensive support measures over time.”
The Consultative Committee will meet early on Wednesday and will then consider the GEMS opinion.Translated with [www.DeepL.com/Translator](http://www.DeepL.com/Translator) (free version)
Kinda proves how “understanding” and socially aware & respectful they are, doesn’t it.. Pathetic..
>”It would directly and indirectly cause renewed economic harm to our
businesses and trigger expensive support measures over time.”
Classic short term thinking from companies.
People staying at home out of fear for their health apparently is not bad for the economy, and neither are people with long covid.
We like money more than our employees. No news there than…
They’d rather give us the third shot themselves over letting us telework?
Shouldn´t the choice at the very least be in the employees hands instead of the employer? Like if I can and want to fully WFH (which I have done fine until we were all forced back to the office 2 times a week recently) I should be able to, my choice and my responsibility if my work suffers from it
