Some might argue they’re inadequately trained full-stop.
Until they retrain, forces will be used and loss every time. Jokes
The word cloud is so telling, these police officers clearly have the mental age of a seven year old and severe prejudices. This thought is reinforced by how useless they are in practice.
(Its probably a video that an officer has to sit at their desk and watch, or its a click through multiple slides course and boom youve completed it without actually reading it).
The issue is, people claiming medical cannabis as a defence, then providing no evidence of it being prescribed, even when offered the oppertunity.
Medical cannabis is a legitimate defence in Drug Driving cases, so long as you are taking and using the drug as per the perscription says to, however if the perscription says “unless it affects your driving” or similar wording, then you can still be done under Section 4 of the RTA.
If you are actively smoking a joint with herbal cannabis – instead of vapourised or through an oil, then your “medical” defence means null.
I am a medical cannabis user and I have heard stories of people being completely competent and legal having their medication confiscated, as well as complete dossers that light up a joint in front of police and claim that it’s legal.
It’s simple to explain,
You have to keep your medicine in the prescription container. It needs to have your legal name on the prescription label and be valid (in date)
You cannot smoke it, and you absolutely shouldn’t drive while high.
You can carry it in public, you can use it in public.
And be considerate of those around you who might oppose.
My experience with them over the last 5 years leads me to believe they are barely training most of them.
I used to have a high opinion of our police.

Could have just stopped at ‘inadequately trained’
Or they want it themselves.
Is it because in order to be a police officer now you have to have done a degree making them highly “educated”? 🙄
Lol. No one gets arrested for smoking cannabis, ‘medicinal’ or not.
I think the UK police are inadequate in general. Sadly they’re incapable of introspection or growth. Hence their reputation will only keep getting lower. Not that it could get much lower.
