Basically Germany is gifting old Leo2 (of unknown spec, I guess A4?) to Czechia so they can keep up their defence & NATO obligations when they gift their T72 to Ukraine. These tanks aren’t really Bundeswehr tanks but rather mothballed reserves which is obviously a factor when looking at the Bundeswehr own state of everything. Overall 15 old Leo2 is not the most insane help but it’s something, obviously there’s home that Czechia decides to move forward with Leo2A7 purchases and obviously also some hope that there’s a chance to tie them into other arms projects too. Also it helps if you use the same equipment as your allies plus no matter what they do going forward, they can still rely on the 120mm ammo stock no matter the platform they chose.
