In the Ukrainian House in Denmark, a ceremonial opening of the exhibition “To Home for Christmas” took place, which for the first time presents such a rich collection of traditional Ukrainian art and family relics brought from Kyiv.

According to Ukrinform, the material was published on the Ukrainian House in Denmark’s Facebook page.

The event drew more than a hundred guests and offered visitors the warmth of a Ukrainian Christmas even beyond the borders of the homeland.

The exhibition, carefully prepared by curators Maria Kvitka and Oleksii Ananov with the support of the Ukrainian House team, transforms the space into a festive journey through Ukrainian traditions.

Visitors will be able to view embroidered festive clothing, hand-woven carpets, ritual adornments, archival photographs, ceramics, Christmas “spider” ornaments, and treasures from museum collections, immersing visitors in the feeling of a home Ukrainian Christmas celebration.

The head of the Ukrainian House in Denmark, Natalia Popovych, emphasized that the Kyiv collection made its way to Denmark thanks to a long journey that was not stopped by the cold rooms of the museum and the war.

“For the first time, such a rich collection from Kyiv has traveled to Denmark. For Ukrainian visitors, this exhibition is a homecoming; for our Danish guests, it opens a window into cultural memory and living traditions that sustain us as a nation,” she noted.

She added that in times of darkness, these treasures of heritage are “our shield and compass.”

The evening featured a performance by the band Endangered Songs, whose song echoed across several zones and revived ancient Ukrainian carols from the de-occupied territories. Their performance became a symbol of resilience and cultural resistance.

The exhibition “To Home for Christmas” will run until February 1, 2026, and is realized with the support of the National Center “Ukrainian House” (Kyiv) and in partnership with the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine.

At the same time, the Ukrainian House in Copenhagen presented a new event from the series “Taste of a United Ukraine,” which highlighted the spirit and heritage of Ukrainian Cossacks, bringing guests together to understand the history of freedom and self-government.
