Leaders of the Patriots of Worcester are actively searching for the addresses of asylum seekers and have even staked out properties.

A representative of Worcestershire Against Hate said the comments on the Patriots Facebook group could place asylum seekers and refugees at risk.

However, Carla Jane, an admin in the group, stood by her comments, admitted she was searching for HMOs being used to accommodate ‘illegal immigrants’ and said the people of Worcester had a right to know where they were living.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police confirmed there was currently no police involvement after concerns were raised about comments made by members of the Patriots group.

“I don’t want people bricking windows and things like that, but people need to know where the houses are and where these people are being put,” said city mum, Carla Jane.

One message by Carla Jane reads: “I’ve had a lot of messages come to me in the past hour with addresses I need to check out. I will definitely start checking these out and hopefully find out some more information.”

Another, also from Carla Jane, read: “Don’t worry though we will find the houses even if it takes us months.

“Someone is always willing to take a back hander for information if all else fails. We just got to find the weakest link.”

One member wrote: “Get them gone. I’ll sleep better knowing the females in my family and friends group will be safe.”

Some of the messages also reveal addresses in Worcester where migrants are believed to be being housed.

A spokesperson for Worcestershire Against Hate said: “There is a concerning effort underway within the Worcester Patriots group to identify accommodation they believe may be housing asylum seekers and refugees. This behaviour amounts to vigilantism and has the potential to place innocent and vulnerable people at significant risk.

“There is no legitimate reason for private individuals or groups to seek information about where approved asylum seekers are living.

“Those who have been provided accommodation have already undergone rigorous assessment and have been granted permission to remain here through the proper legal channels. They pose no threat to the community.

“The greater concern lies with groups engaging in targeted activities based on speculation, misinformation, or bias.

“Vigilante actions frequently lead to serious mistakes. They rely on rumour and hearsay rather than verified facts, resulting in false accusations and the harassment of individuals who have done nothing wrong. ”

Carla Jane said: “I stand by everything I have written. I’m trying to find out where they are living because they are a risk to our society, to our women and children. I want to know when it is safe for our kids to go out to play.”
