  1. Who thinks of throwing crumble with custard at something as a form of protest?

Is there some sort of symbolism I’m missing?

  2. *activists throw apple crumble at the display case containing the crown jewels

  3. That’ll show them. Presumably they left it for the minimum wage worker to clean up?

  4. I thought the ones on display weren’t genuine anyway. Inequality is a massive problem though.

  5. From the Take Back Power [press release](https://takebackpower.net/2025/12/06/democracy-has-crumbled-take-back-power-crumble-and-custard-the-crown-jewels/):

    > Two supporters of Take Back Power have smothered dessert over the crown jewels. Take Back Power is a new nonviolent civil-resistance group, demanding that the UK government establish a permanent citizen’s assembly- a House of the People, which has the power to tax extreme wealth and fix Britain

    > “Our country is crumbling before our eyes! We have homeless people dying on the very streets that King Charles passed on his way to the coronation, whilst there are more empty homes than unhoused people in this country.”

  6. Disgusting! The crumble to custard ratio is way off.

  7. Im sure the cleaner was moved by this heroic display of antiestablishment ferociousness…probably calling them all the needldicks under the sun.

  8. Waste of an apple crumble when there are homeless people on the streets of London going short of food.

  9. Second time I have seen this group today. FIrst time was them projecting something at Westminster which was shared in a politically active Whatsapp I was in to all like 20 members.

Then this is the top post on my Reddit…. with hundreds of comments…..

    BuT sTunTs dOn’T wOrK.

  10. Hope they are taken into custardy and end up doing porridge. They need to get their just desserts.

  11. Lucky they have designed this place to expect morons like this

  12. Nothing says ‘Fuck the Monarchy’ more than apple crumble and custard.

  13. Oh, well that’s that then. The monarchy is hereby formally abolished.

  14. They claimed democracy had ….crumbled…..and were taken into….. cusdo-r-dy.

  15. The statement from the also said two people had been taken into custody, even the 50 have a sense of humour

  16. Ah yes. The poor bullet proof glass. However will we cope!

  17. That is a particularly wasteful use of a fabulous dessert. For shame!

  18. They way they’d see me licking off the crumble on CCTV

  19. Terrible. This reminds me of the time when I was at the Queens lying at state and an Asian man threw a bottle at her coffin. He was promptly dragged out.

Can imagine the same thing happened.
