The Estonian Ministry of Defense published greetings to Ukrainian servicemen on Ukraine’s Armed Forces Day.

This was announced by representatives of the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in an official post on the social network X.

“The Armed Forces of Ukraine defend not only your homeland, but the security of all Europe as well. Estonia stands firmly with you. Your courage, professionalism, and self-sacrifice inspire us all”

Reaction and Context of the Greeting

In the wake of Estonia’s greeting, President Zelensky previously congratulated Ukrainian servicemen on Ukraine’s Armed Forces Day.

According to him, the defense forces are making maximum efforts on the battlefield so that Ukraine has a strong position at the negotiating table.

December 6 marks Ukraine’s Armed Forces Day.

In this context, it is worth mentioning the historical aspect: in 1991, the Law “On the Armed Forces of Ukraine” was adopted.

After the country transitioned to the New Julian and Gregorian calendars in 2023, the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fell on Saint Nicholas Day.
