St Clement's Church, was built around 1520 for the Chiefs of the MacLeods of Harris, (he lived in Dunvegan Castle on the Isle of Skye).

It was a Catholic church before falling into disuse around 1560 but the church grounds were continually used for MacLeod burials.

I took this wee video when I was there this year, the ‘tomb’ is an effigy of Alasdair Crotach MacLeòid who was the first MacLeod chief not to be buried on the island of Iona.
