Curious if anyone from here has any take on this politician? Has he an Ulster/Scots connection? A good few Presbyterians in America do have an Ulster heritage.

Christ’s message was diluted by Saul of Tarsus
As a catholic/christian educated atheist, I approve this message. I really think people nowadays have got the wrong end of the stick in terms of the Christian message.
Name him. Sounds like a Christian that Christ would be on board with.
Jesus washed the feet of the sick and the poor. Some of those seppo mouth breathers who vote don’t/can’t even wash their own feet.
Apparently he’s James Dell Talarico, a Democrat fromm Texas.
I can buy this, at least it’s inclusive for all.
Oh, that’s James Talarico! I’m not from Texas but I do follow him on BlueSky. I can definently see him going places in American politics. I wouldn’t be surprised if in a decade or two he throws his hat in to a presidential race
Edit: some paper (I think it was Axios?) tried to manufacture a candle because he follows sex workers on his Instagram page and he just put out a statement being like “I didn’t realize it, but I support their right to do sex work because god loves everybody ✌🏻”
Christ came for sinners to save them from their sin, not affirm it as good.
He speaks a simple truth the most hateful people are the ones who usually describe themselves as Religious.

Let’s make this man famous!
I was gonna type ‘let’s blow this fucker up’ but this is the wrong sub for that sort of lingo
Not sure what this has got to do with Northern Ireland – but the notion that the Bible doesn’t mention abortion … “Thou shalt not kill.” it’s pretty clear cut.
American Presbyterians are split. The PCUSA is the oldest of the denominations, however it has deviated radically from Presbyterian beliefs. Originally at it founding it changed the Westminster confession of faith on issues around the civil magistrate to reflect more American ideas around individualism. Later in 1967 they all but abandoned the Westminster standards radically changing the confessions to reflect liberal 19th and early 20th century teaching. The teaching of Karl Barth was instrumental in these changes. Naturally these changes away from what it means to be a Presbyterian caused trouble in the church and there are now a few Presbyterian denominations. The largest of which is the Presbyterian church of America (PCA) it has maintained the original Westminster confessions and remains within historic Christianity. It has seen huge growth over the last few decades. The PCUSA, which this video is from, has not been considered Presbyterian by any serious student of Presbyterianism for decades.
