Metal Bands per Capita in Germany by State

  1. How about metal bands per corona deniers per capita? SCNR 🙂

Edit: You are not really relaxed, are you?

  2. I knew before clicking that the Saarland would be dense, but goddamn! Late 90s, early 00s, there was a very active black metal scene the high point of which was Wigrid, whose sole member was involved in about a dozen other bands. Good stuff if you’re into very ugly, lo-fi black metal. I think there may be some sketchy politics involved though (as is the case with most black metal)…

  3. A fun fact to add to the post:
Germany might not have the highest bands per capita density, but we have the most metal bands in Europe. And the radio stations still won’t play any metal song other than “Nothing Else Matters” by Metallica or the “The Sound of Silence” cover from Disturbed.

  4. I might or might not have given the 666ths upvote… At least I have a screenshot that makes me proud now!

  5. Nordrhein-Westfalen is a place where ones of greatest thrash metal bands were born – Sodom and Kreator.

  6. For additional detail, I think it’d be helpful to label how many bands, as well as the states (for non-German natives like me… still trying to learn all the states lol). Love it nonetheless.
