I’m planning to solo travel to Norway for 9 days this late July-early Aug. It would be primarily a day hiking trip, I do have a tent and camping equipment but have never camped alone. I’m thinking to fly into Oslo (bc it’s cheapest), but I can’t drive. I hear there’s a train from Oslo to Bergen which has stops for hiking, but is that hiking ACTUALLY good? I’d love to do the top hikes in Norway fjords [https://www.fjordnorway.com/en/inspiration/top-5-hikes-in-fjord-norway](https://www.fjordnorway.com/en/inspiration/top-5-hikes-in-fjord-norway) but are those reachable with public transport?
Any advice is appreciated. I want to spend as much time hiking the most beautiful shit as possible, basically.

I suggest you don’t need the tent – use DNT cabins 😀. They are cheap and comfortable.
As for the train hiking bit. Yes you can stop up on Hardangervidda and do some amazing hiking around Geilo area or Finse.
But the best is on the coast by the Fjords – I personally love around Odda – lots of hikes from one base, Inc Trolltunga and many more on both sides of the fjord.
Using Odda as a base could easily keep you busy for 9 days and mean less time lost travelling.
Best hiking in the world on the West coast 😀
