Islamabad (TDI): The Spokesperson of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Sunday, sharply criticized some recent remarks made by Indian officials, accusing them of undermining regional peace and launching a campaign of disinformation aimed at defaming Pakistani institutions.
The statement came a day after Indian External Affairs Minister, Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, claimed that Pakistan’s “ideological hostility” toward India is rooted in the influence of its powerful military.
Speaking at a public forum in New Delhi, Jaishankar argued that many of India’s long-standing issues with Pakistan were driven by its army, which he said had fostered deep-seated resentment against India.

His comments follow months of heightened tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, including a brief but fierce military exchange involving artillery fire, missiles, drones, and fighter jets.
Building on these tensions, the Foreign Office issued a statement that Islamabad condemned what it called “inflammatory and baseless” comments targeting Pakistan’s armed forces and state agencies.
Responding to Jaishankar’s remarks, Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said India’s leadership was attempting to discredit Pakistan’s institutions as part of a wider propaganda strategy aimed at diverting global attention from New Delhi’s own destabilizing actions in the region, including its alleged state-sponsored terrorism inside Pakistan.
He added that such provocative statements reflect India’s disregard for regional peace. The spokesperson further said that instead of making baseless accusations against Pakistan’s military, Indian leaders should examine the rise of the Hindutva-driven policies that have fueled mob violence, arbitrary arrests, and the destruction of homes and places of worship in India.

The Foreign Office’s statement also highlighted the brief four-day military confrontation between India and Pakistan in May, noting that it “clearly showcased the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and their unwavering commitment to protect the nation and its people against any Indian aggression in a measured, effective, and responsible manner.”
Responding to the accusations, Pakistan reaffirmed commitment to regional stability and warned that continued attempts to tarnish its institutions can have serious consequences for peace in South Asia.
The statement also emphasized that Islamabad remains open to dialogue, but only under terms of mutual respect and transparency, warning that attempts to manipulate narratives for political ends jeopardize prospects for lasting stability.
