Is coffee the new avocado for us stupid millennials?
Hope business doesn’t leave it too latte to move now
Yes the business near offices in Dublin may still be taking a hit from hybrid and WFH arraignments but my local deli, the local coffee shops and even the local take away (who now opens at 12 instead of four to cater for WFH lunch orders) have all seen business increase due to WFH.
We have local people spending money locally because they don’t need to travel to Dublin.
For fuck sake. How is it always our fault? Shit money, rising inflation, no houses.
But yeah, it’s our fault because we buy the odd nice coffee. God forbid we treat ourselves with the money we earn from working our hole off.
I havent read the article, but business have been saying the same thing in London.
While hybrid working and WFH undoubtedly a big reason for a drop off in customers, I would imagine the current cost of living and over saturation of cafe Nd lunch places in dublin are equally affecting business.
My own case i cant work from home and went into the office throughout the pandemic. I used to buy lunch out at least once a week. Now I think it might be once every 2 or 3 weeks. There are also more places bow more than pre pandemic offering lunch near my office.
