  1. Add this to million plus of Russians dying for last centurie’s idea of grand strategy.

  2. This is why you should never be Russian around doing your pre flight checks

  3. That’s the thing with these tandem seat strike aircraft, when one ejects, so does the other. There’s a channel called “Paper Skies” and he does a great story on the first 0-0 ejection caused by an stupid design flaw in the SU-24. Ukrainian content creator, does excellent work.

  4. “We’re lucky they’re so fucking stupid”

  5. Keep the good work up Ruzzia , you have a lot more pilots yet to eject, *hop hop*

  6. I don’t even know how they climb into those aging, shitty maintaince pieces of garbage in the first place.

My first thought would be it’s only a matter of time before this machine falls apart on me and I’m another youtube video.

  7. Noooo, is this for real? My god, what a sad way to go…

  8. The Su-24 has a serious [design flaw ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jklGQxAOoo8)where the horizontal stabilizers/elevators depress from their own weight while on the ground and in an unpowered state. This is normal for aircraft, except with the Su-24 the control stick in the cockpit has a tendency to catch on the ejection handles. There has been at least one instance of the plane ejecting the crew on its own accord.

Rather than correct the design flaw, standard procedure is to strap the elevators down into a locked position with bungee cords while on the ground.

  9. These deceased pilots have probably bombed civilian targets as well. Karma go them.

  10. More importantly, that’ll take that jet out of service for a long time.

  11. Luckily those soldiers had a roof over their heads unlike the rest of their hobo army.

  12. common suicide method in lots of regions, was popular with US forces for a time too, look it up

  13. Reminds me of the training mission where agent 47 manipulates a planes eject to kill his target…

  14. Reading these comments reminds me of why I am still on reddit. The collective power of making fun of things is amazing.

  15. Oh, what a feeling, scraping pilots off the ceiling…

  16. rumors say that Wile E. was written on helmet of the pilot

  17. Ejecting into shelter has a positive meaning until I realized that they meant ejecting into hangar which has the opposite meaning. Ouch!

  18. Am I a bad person for laughing at this story? I assume these pilots with their expensive, time consuming training had either run missions to kill Ukrainians or were prepared to.

I keep hearing Russians and other stooges saying that “Sanctions don’t work”. I’m betting you can draw a line from the aircraft parts they can’t currently get to this lack of maintenance, and this hilarious war casualty.

  19. Well, glad to see that the new shelters are working! Further more it minds me of the stick shift issue in the new lada, and yet just a normal day in Russia!

  20. I think there’s a mission in one of the Hitman games where you can do exactly that to kill someone lol. They want to inspect the plane / sit in the cockpit for show or whatever and you eject them into the roof.
