An LED bulb will use about 9 watts of power per hour. You’re not going to beat that cost efficiency with candles..

How on earth can she possibly be paying over £700 a month for energy? Even if she had a small cannabis farm she wouldn’t be paying half as much.
We have these energy saving LED lightbulbs and they are disgustingly efficient. They weren’t very expensive either. I forget now but my lamp in my room only uses like 10W or so.
I also sometimes use a LED light that charges by USB. No real way to tell how good that is by comparison, but sometimes it’s just nice to be in a dark room lol.
I suppose candles might be good in the winter as you’d get a little heat from multiple candles, but I have to agree with other posters, surely the candles cost more than energy saving bulbs. The one I’m using in my room might seem dim but it’s gotta be brighter than candles, and that’s the 10W one. It might even be less, idk.
