  1. *”How to raise the topic of euthanasia with your parents so you can inherit their home.”*

Brought to you by the Government of Ireland.

  2. Is this the government’s way of saying ‘buckle up, we’re in it for the long haul’?

    Jesus wept.

  3. We should send back a video of ‘how to cope when we fight to remove your pensions and earnings, 2nd dwellings and side earners with a bit of pull for the family ,for destroying the housing market, health system and any sense of accountability that used to exist’.

P.S..Did anyone question the cost and tendering of the video.

  4. How much did they spend to make this video? Or who made it.

  5. Nice! Please share a list of tips on how to cope with government failures around housing and infrastructure 🙏🏻

  6. Anyone know who the people in the ad are? Podcasters?

  7. I like it, what other government failures can we outsource to some short, informational videos?

‘The Art of Self-Surgery’ by the HSE?

‘So, you’ve been invaded. Military strategies for beginners & hobbyists’ by the Department of Defence?

This has the potential to be a real innovation in governance.

  8. They didn’t strike me as being old enough to have lived away from home for any great length of time. I was expecting someone mid to late 20’s or older. Poor casting there I think.

That aside wtf did I just watch. Who in their right mind though that was a good idea to commission something like that? Totally tone deaf.

  9. This and the planned changes to planning so people can build shanty towns in their back garden to rent out !crazy

  10. Disappointing, not one suggestion in the video on what to do with a collection of over 200 Funko Pops.

  11. Strange way of announcing they won’t hit the housing targets, but sure look… MAAAAAAAA

  12. *The easiest way through the lack of housing options? It’s a-parent!*

  13. What’s happens when the social contract is broken?

  14. That this point we should be using torture tactics on the housing ministry to get some results. I propose the mister is made to live with his parents, mandatory bedtime at 9pm with the faint sound of parents shagging being played for maximum physiological damage

  15. Both look pumped up on med’s . Probably no surprise , with zero future ahead.

  16. Oh this is fantastic ! I feel so enlightened ! Thank you darling government for this totally normal advice !

  17. Probably could have built a house for the price of that nonsense, would have been a lot more use.

  18. Id like to congratlate the housing market on winning the war on housing, I didnt think drugs would be topped

  19. I fear for my children, they’ll have zero chance of being able to stay in Ireland post education.
Total failure of our politicians to allow and actually encourage this. Releasing this pandering gaslighting bollox is right up there with “Sure build a house in Mam and dad’s backyard cos we can’t fix the housing sector”

  20. Young people should actually be rioting at this stage. It’s a fucking joke.

  21. As someone who moved back in with parents after 11 years and saw this advert a few days ago, I had never been so disappointed and angry at our government , and that’s saying something as I am very angry with them.

I like how this is now just “the norm” and them admitting that it’s not likely fixed.

Isn’t this utterly crazy? Like absolute madness!

The only good thing from this is atleast the government are acknowledging they aren’t going to change it or make it better.

Please please stop voting them in.

  22. Plenty of government buildings to fill with homeless people

  23. And yet 🙂 Everyone still 🙂 Fucking 🙂 Voted 🙂 For FF/FG 🙂 Last Year 🙂

    I’m losing my mind

  24. I remember when the government decided turning 18 meant you were still a dependent on your parents. I was just about to “age out of care”. Years later I learned my social worker had closed my file saying I had left the country. I am still here and apparently, in my 30s, I should still turn to my dead mother in hopes of support. Wonder if Coosan cemetery is still against the living moving in. Instead of “laughing or crying” I’m at the point of “raging or crying”. No doubt a lot of people are going to find out they have been removed from waiting list for support because they “left the country”

  25. Can we fast forward to the FOI that shows all the emails about this? I think we deserve to know who was in favour of it and who pushed back against it.

  26. What an utter fuck up. They’re completely tone deaf

  27. “Living in the hot press can be cozy and warm!”

A message from the Department of Lowering Expectations.

  28. Nothing will fix the falling fertility rate like promoting people living with their parents at 30

  29. Why is there a 12 year old boy and a girl who barely looks over 18 presenting a housing crisis message to adults ?

  30. When are we protesting lads? When are we voting FFG out? When are we actually done with this shit?

  31. This is disgusting to see advertised as normal by the government

  32. “Living with your family” is hardly fucking “dystopian”

  33. Wonder when the government will publish their “How to be like Luigi Mangione” guide too accompany this.

  34. Did anyone actually read the article? The video wasn’t created by Dept of Housing, it was created by Spunout

“In a statement, the Department of Housing said the campaign was not created by them and that it is an initiative developed and funded by the Housing Agency in partnership with Ireland’s youth information and support platform, Spunout.

“Consisting of four videos, the campaign is an element of the Support Guide for the Youth Homelessness Strategy. The videos were posted from the Housing Agency and Spunout’s social media platforms and also shared across the department’s channels. The campaign was developed by young people and based on their experiences,” “

  35. Holy F!
Is that some AI video that is supposed to be funny and poking fun at typical tone deaf government ‘help’ videos?

It looks more like a video to remind students coming home for a break from studying to not be lazy shits and do some chores around the house.

I sincerely hope not a single cent of the tax payer’s was spent on this.
It’s as obtuse as someone who has never been addicted to anything in their life run around and tells others to just stop doing the addictive thing.

This has got to be the worst ‘how to deal’ government video I have ever seen in my life.

Might as well have thrown in ‘and knowing is half the battle’.
