WANA (Dec 08) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the determination of Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan to utilize all available capacities to enhance bilateral relations and deepen cooperation within multilateral frameworks aimed at safeguarding regional peace and stability.
On Monday night, December 8, 2025, Esmaeil Baqaei wrote on X that Foreign Minister Dr. Araghchi, during his first official bilateral trip to the Republic of Azerbaijan, arrived in Baku this morning, where he was welcomed by the relevant regional director-general and Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Tehran. Throughout the day, he held highly constructive and productive meetings with the country’s president, foreign minister, speaker of parliament, and deputy prime minister.
He added that a visit to Baku State University and participation in a gathering with the university’s faculty members and students—alongside the unveiling of the Azerbaijani translation of the book “The Power of Negotiation”—marked the conclusion of this short but highly fruitful one-day trip.
Baqaei stressed that Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan remain firmly committed to leveraging all capacities to strengthen bilateral ties and expand cooperation within multilateral mechanisms in order to preserve regional peace and stability.
