Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi, along with Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu have paid a visit to Raleigh, North Carolina, USA, where they met members of the Moldovan community in the region. The officials described the Diaspora in North Carolina as “united and energetic.”


During the discussions, Mihai Popsoi presented the direction in which Moldova was heading and highlighted the important role of the Diaspora in promoting the country’s image internationally, as well as in attracting investments and developing cultural and economic projects.


The minister also referred to the process of modernizing public services, noting  that the government was working to ensure that Moldovans abroad can get documents faster and more conveniently.


At the end of the meeting, the officials thanked those present for their hospitality and involvement, emphasizing that Moldova prides itself on their achievements and contributions.


A delegation of Moldova, led by Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, is making an official visit to the United States on December 2–10, during which they had meetings with high-ranking officials of the U.S. Congress, the White House, the National Security Council and the Department of State.


In Washington, discussions focused on strengthening American support for reforms in Moldova, enhancing national security and developing bilateral cooperation.


During the visit, the Moldovan delegation met Diaspora in Washington, Chicago, and Raleigh.
