Note that the Trussell Trust to which this data comes from makes up 60% of foodbanks in the UK, so the true food bank utilisation is higher than the date suggests. Also as an aside note of relevance the Tory governance started in 2010 which is when food bank usage started to drastically increase.
I was just wondering what your government will be doing to protect its people from homelessness and starvation.
(I’ve asked the same of mine … still waiting for a response that isn’t from a Republican who wants us to pick ourselves up from our bootstraps… the ones we ate last week to keep from going hungry)
Roughly 183,333,333 rise annually for every one of those 12 years of Food Bank usage …
or 5,278 persons a month or 18 a day … likely the 18 working adults who are being paid piss poor wages or those made redundant.
183,000 annually and that is before the new 91,000 Boris wants to fire that actually comprise a family population of over 500,000 persons … families have more than one member and those families in turn support the businesses in the country and their respective communities … or they use to.
I can’t believe so many people forgot how to cook since 2010 /s

The joys of Tory voting Britain.
Big society?
Hmm who was in power for the 90% or that? Think about next time you vote ….
This is because people have become lazier.

According to Tories.
Hmm, I wonder what happened 12 years ago.

Is this what he meant about levelling up we’ll all be using foodbanks
And just a reminder that while some of us have been in the worst financial state of our lives, over the last three years £17M of taxpayers’ money went to subsidise MPs dining in parliament.

Have a good day.
Replace the bar and restaurant in Parliament with food bank quality feeding for MPs. Remove the daily food allowance from MP expenses.
I’ve used food bank and I can cook. What I’ve been supplied with doesn’t give you a lot to work with. It’s mostly tins of soup. 😆
It’s essentially a ration pack. You shouldn’t have to, I’m not justifying it either. It’s an existence. But I buy vegetables from sites like ‘too good to go’ or my local store does a box of fruit n vegetables just turning for 1.50p. I’ve had to live creatively for the last two years so I got plenty of practice.
I’m lucky I benefit from cheap rent. I couldn’t live if it was £100+ more.

The need for charities and food banks is a sign the government has failed. You can try to dress it up but that’s the grim reality.
Welcome to Tory Britain. I do hope everyone is enjoying their stay?
Just a reminder that the largest loss of life within the UK was by starvation when the UK was the wealthiest country in the world.
Tories smile with glee reading this
Remind me again what party has been in power for the last decade…
Not that this makes it any better, but the UK is not alone in this. There are over 8m people in France having to use foodbanks, and other EU countries are struggling. 1 in 8 people in the US don’t have enough food (that would be the equivalent of about 8m people in the UK).
There are widespread, underlying issues affecting more than the UK. Of course, that doesn’t mean we have to follow suit, but many countries with similar economies to ours are suffering from similar problems.

Keep voting Tory, people, see what happens.
Which if I’m right about the timings, is entirely during the tory governments leadership?
Would be interesting to find out how many food bank users are willing to vote for the Conservatives.
