Fuck off ryanair & mensen die 10x op een jaar een vlucht van een uur moeten nemen. Vliegtaks naar 100 euro had passender geweest.

In some countries they use the trick of doing all the cuts in a poorer more remote region (Azores in Portugal and Galicia for Spain) to help increase political pressure. But all in all, this is mostly bluff or normal winter reduction. Next spring they’ll announce plenty of “new routes”.

The purpose wasn’t to make people fly less, the purpose was to get a higher government income from that.

RyanAir seems to be only viable thanks to public support (sometimes illegal) and tax reductions, while they constantly bypass regulations. They can take their planes to hell.
Het is een goed drukkingsmiddel dat hun ook gewoon goed uitkomt. Ryanair doet een 6 tal vluchten per dag. Dus 5 vliegtuigen x3 uitgaande vluchten per dag is 1 miljoen zitjes( vliegtuigen van 187 en 197 zitjes, gemiddeld 190 genomen). Niet zo overdreven, ´aar 1 miljoen klinkt beter in een nieuwstitel. Tegelijk hebben leveringen van nieuwe boeings vertraging, dus neemt men deze vliegtuigen weg en plaatst ze waar die vertraagde leveringen moesten komen.
En ze spreken van zitjes, niet van verkochte zitjes. Een goed moment om de niet goed verkopende vluchten te schrappen en de schuld bij de overheid te leggen.
Toch weer een kutoplossing.
Het correcte probleem: kerosine wordt niet belast, ook al hangt er een grote kost aan (milieuvervuiling). Oplossing: kerosine belasten. Dit zorgt voor een belasting in verhouding met de afstand, aantal passagiers/vlucht, zuinig zijn van vliegtuigen etc.
Wat is dit? Platte belasting om begrotingstekort te proberen weg werken, gecreëerd door incompetentie. De gedachte is dat dit beter verkoopbaar is aan het grote publiek, maar verder heeft dit niks te maken met gericht belasten. (en als ik hier wat lees lijkt het nog te pakken ook). Het volk krijgt de politiekers die het verdient.
En daarom bouwen we beter geen tweede terminal in Charleroi. Voordat je het weet wordt je gegijzeld door low cost carriers die ermee dreigen elders te vliegen, waardoor je met een white Elephant opgezadeld zit.
Apparantly this sub is rich and can fly premium the whole time but as someone who has family abroad Ryanair does keep regular round tripping affordable.
