Opera singer Plácido Domingo will give a concert in Eldborg, Harpa, on 9 March next year, with ticket sales beginning on 16 December.
He will perform “together with a soprano and pianist James Vaughan in a unique and unforgettable concert. He is a living legend and one of the greatest operatic voices of our time,” according to the event announcement.
Domingo is considered one of the finest opera singers in the world and is also an esteemed conductor. “He has served as artistic director of the Arena di Verona anniversary festival and as general director of both the Los Angeles Opera and the Washington National Opera. Over the course of his career he has performed more than 150 roles in over 4,400 performances, sold millions of records, and filled stadiums around the world.”
James Vaughan, a musician from Dublin, has long been regarded as one of Europe’s leading pianists, accompanists, and vocal coaches. He holds a BA in musicology and composition from Trinity College Dublin and also received recognition from Trinity College London as a piano soloist.
“Together, Plácido Domingo, James Vaughan, and the soprano will perform a programme personally selected and shaped by Domingo, tailored to the audience, the hall, and his own artistic vision.”
