If a trace of one of the most common food ingredients could kill me, I wouldn’t eat out — ever. And if I had serious food allergies, I definitely wouldn’t trust somewhere like Pret. Their reputation for this kind of stuff is awful.
Pret again with the killing
Crazy how somebody can get wiped out by an allergy, like a milk or peanut allergy.
Gone because of some sandwich… mad.
Poor lady having such a life threatening allergy to such a common ingredient.
That sucks!
So I’m guessing she was allergic to milk, I would go with that instead of saying she was a vegan that died, it doesn’t really explain anything.
Tragic
The manufacturer knew which makes it worse
If you can’t guarantee then stick a label on saying “may contain traces of”
As there’s ethical vegans who would be fine & then people with severe allergies
If fucking traces of milk is enough to kill you, then you should not be going to high street coffee shops paying minimum wage. The risk is unjustified.
ka-ching
If a trace amount of dairy could kill me I’d probably take a packed lunch everywhere.
Great. That is the end of anything dairy free. Welcome to the world of “lower dairy”
Otherwise the risk of this is too high for any business
We need to start a medical research programme into why some people have deadly allergies to miniscule amounts of normally edible common foodstuffs , and how to prevent such allergies developing in the first place.

For anyone interested in how cross contamination occurred.
