Huntertown Community Interpretive Park will host a Turkey Trot Fun Run on Nov. 22 at 11 a.m. in Versailles, Ky.

The Turkey Trot Fun Fun is a family-friendly Thanksgiving event that allows people to celebrate the holiday with the community and see the beauty of the park. This year’s fun run is their third annual race.

The race takes place in the more scenic route of the park and features a one-mile course that loops twice on a mowed grass, cross-country style trail. The fun run begins and ends at the historical marker, which is the Hunterstown sign in the park. Despite the relaxed nature of the race, participants are timed and their results are posted on the Huntertown Fun Run website.

Participants are also given the option to dress in festive costumes. In the past, many families and other members have dressed up in Thanksgiving-colored tutus, turkey hats and other festive attire.

After the race, participants can stay to indulge in food from local food trucks and other vendors at the park.

While the Huntertown Community Interpretive Park is known to host a wide variety of events, this specific event allows for anyone to come and participate regardless of age and athletic ability. Through the Turkey Trot Fun Run, community members can come together to appreciate the park and also help Huntertown raise money for future park projects.
