The Ukrainian national under-20 men’s ice hockey team played its third World Championship game in Division 1A, held in Slovenia.
In Bled, the Ukrainians were defeated by the hosts of the competition – Slovenia – by a score of 3:4 (0:1, 2:1, 1:2).
Current tournament situation and previous results
After three games, Andriy Srubko’s team has 3 points: in the opener there was an overtime win over Kazakhstan (2:1), after which the Ukrainians lost to Norway in overtime (2:3).
In the remaining matches, Srubko’s squad will face Austria and France.
Current standings: Norway – 8 points (3 games), Austria – 6 (3), Slovenia – 4 (3), Kazakhstan – 3 (2), Ukraine – 3 (3), France – 0 (1).
The tournament will conclude on December 13. The division winner will advance to the top division of the U20 World Championship.
