President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko met Chairman of Russia’ Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin on December 11th

Greeting the guest, the Belarusian leader stated that he considers Alexander Bastrykin’s visit to Belarus an extremely important one, “And you visiting me — it’s not only a courtesy call, but as diplomats say, there’s some truth to that. We have what to talk about, to discuss things. You and I take the same line, one stance. We have never had any discrepancy in terms of our assessment of the internal and external factors affecting the existence of Russia and Belarus. Therefore, it’s very important for me that you visit me, even if only for a few minutes, so that we can synchronise our watches. You are a true friend, and not only to me, but also to the Belarusian people. I follow your work as closely as possible. I’m delighted that you are still managing to maintain your system and structure in these challenging, difficult times and work for the benefit not only of Russia, but also of our Union [State of Russia and Belarus], which we are striving to build.”
