Prime Minister Andrej Plenković met with ambassadors of EU member states at a regular meeting in Zagreb, held to mark the end of Denmark’s presidency of the Council of the European Union. The gathering was hosted by Denmark’s Ambassador Ole Henrik Frijs-Madsen, the Government announced.

Discussions focused on global challenges facing the EU, as well as Croatia’s current political and economic situation. It was also confirmed that Croatia will host next year’s Three Seas Initiative Summit and a meeting of the EU-MED group.

Plenković highlighted political stability as a key factor in delivering the Government’s goals as it enters its tenth year in office. He reaffirmed Croatia’s expectation of joining the OECD in 2026, completing the country’s main strategic foreign policy objectives following entry into the eurozone and the Schengen area.

According to the Government, Plenković also pointed to continued positive economic trends, including 19 consecutive quarters of GDP growth since early 2021, rising employment, and Croatia’s current A-level investment credit rating. This year, Croatia’s GDP per capita is expected to reach 78% of the EU average, up from 62% in 2015.
