  1. Two Afghan small boat migrants who raped a 15-year-old girl have been sent to a ‘cushy’ prison that lets inmates play Xbox games and enjoy ensuite showers. 

    Jan Jahanzeb and Israr Niazal, both 17, abducted the child from a park in Leamington Spa before brutally raping her as she cried and screamed for help. 

    After their jailing on Monday, they are being held at Werrington Young Offender Institution in Staffordshire. 

    Conditions at the youth jail are far more comfortable than in adult prisons, with inmates allowed regular visits and phone calls as well as hours of communal time to play computer games and table tennis. 

    They are kept in single cells with showers and a phone alongside a desk, laptop, TV and DVD player. 

    They can also use the gym at least five times a week and get £20 of taxpayers’ cash to spend in the prison shop. 

    In an attempt to rehabilitate them, inmates can also access 30 hours of education each week alongside practical courses, including barista training and painting and decorating.

  5. And what about their poor victim, what does she obtain? A life time of psychological pain and torment. Will she get any assistance from social care, or will she be forgotten and left to fend for herself??

    Shit like this should make our blood boil.

    Edit: The judge added: ‘No child should have to suffer the ordeal [the victim] has suffered. The fact is, you two have robbed her of her childhood.’

    So why, might I ask, are they being offered such luxuries in prison???

    If the victim’s loss of childhood and subsequent trauma are so serious, why are we mollycoddling these two animals???

    The UK is a fucking clown show.

  7. A lot of people here CLEARLY don’t understand prison politics.

    Their crime even amongst the most vile people makes them a forever target.

    They will live in fear for the duration of their time in prison. No matter how “cushy” it is. Which is a silly misleading way to describe the reality of prisons in the UK.

    Unless they have connects in there are able to click up pretty much someone WILL make an attempt on their lives.

    It’s prison politics. Don’t be a rapist. Don’t be a chomo. Or as far as the prison system goes your life is forfeit.

    Hell the prison gaurds often let slip on who’s in for what. Especially rapists and chomos.

  11. Xbox might be a step too far but if the goal is rehabilitation then I’d expect them to have showers and money along with three meals and some sort of exercise area/activities along with lessons aimed at entry level occupations etc.

  12. I saw a documentary a while ago about Singaporean prison. Extremely tough and spartan, but also humane with prison bullying not being tolerated. Prisoners get anger management treatment and can earn SMALL treats through excellent behavior. It was really impressive.

  13. Isn’t it the same treatment for everyone irrelevant whether they’re a migrant or not?

    Any juvenile gets the same treatment when they commit a crime.

    What else do people want? Special prisons for migrants? Like somewhere we can all concentrate them in? Hmmm

  15. This is ridiculous, we’re all out here working our assess off for a decent living, and there are criminals like these that get this treatment, whilst we’ve got people sleeping rough.

    Disgusting, what the actual F is wrong with this country.

  16. I can afford an XBox or a PS5 etc, in reality I don’t have time to play computer games given my obligations as a provider, a Son, a Husband.

  18. It’s not a holiday camp, contrary to the headline. The inspectorate found last year that:

    Werrington accounted for 56% of all injuries during use of force in the YOI estate despite holding just 18% of the children. Governance arrangements had not identified or addressed this issue. Youth Custody Service (YCS) data for the previous six months showed that Werrington had the highest rate of injuries during the use of force
    amongst comparable prisons. There had been 16 injuries to children, of which five were minor but needed treatment, and 27 to staff, of which
    two were serious. We were made aware of two further serious injuries to staff since the publication of the YCS data.

    Children spent far too long locked up, particularly on weekends where many were in their cells for up to 22 hours a day
