Forever chemicals found in cereals, bread, pasta and other food according to new study • FRANCE 24

It’s a stark new warning. According to Pesticide Action Europe, many of Europe’s most popular serial-based foods are contaminated with so-called forever chemicals, PAS. One of the most common TFA was found in more than 80% of samples across 16 countries. TFA turned up in breakfast cereals, sweets, pasta, croissants, whole grain and white bread, and flour, often at high levels. All people are exposed to TFA through multiple pathways, including food and drinking water. PAS are industrial chemicals used since the 1950s. They can take hundreds, even thousands of years to break down. Once they leak into soil or water, they can linger for generations. The new study came just one day after another alarming report from France’s Food Safety Agency. It found PAS contamination in 92% of drinking water. Water samples collected over the past 3 years. The presence of PAS in drinking water is still insufficiently understood. Only a few of these substances are currently monitored. In recent years, the health risks have become clearer. Some PAS chemicals have been linked to serious illnesses, including cancer. Campaigners are now urging governments to ban all PAS-based pesticides and other major sources of TFA.

A new study finds that breakfast cereals, bread and other cereal-based foods in Europe are heavily contaminated with one of the most common “forever chemicals”, PFAS. The report, published by Pesticide Action Europe, a coalition of more than 600 NGOs, says pesticides are the source and calls for urgent action.   4. Keep asking anyone with enough money if they can start their own wheat farms, and organise unions to buy from them and sustain them

  5. Forever chemicals has to be one the biggest new fear mongering terms I have heard about. There isn't even evidence that "forever chemicals" are even bad for you, and it's basically impossible to study because almost everyone on the planet has it in them. At most the increased cancer chance increases the number of total cases by 6800 cases per year in the USA, which is obviously a drop in the bucket because there are almost 2 million new cases every year. You know what does cause a significate increase in cancer risk, obesity with about 700,000 new cancer cases every year being linked to it in the USA.

  26. This is exactly what happens if the Government or the regulatory authority simply allowes the businessmen and scientists to function. Neither scientist nor businessmen, or technologists ever prioritising the long term effects of any product the discover and launch for profits. They are only interested in what is init for me. Such people make money first become millionaires and billionaires and then venture out to fix the broken societies and communities for which their very greed has been the reason.
